Ancient Weave Core

The Ancient Weave Core is a widely unknown magical item. It's maker has yet to be discovered as well as all of it's capabilities. The egg-shaped object has mostly a deep black metal-like structure to it and is accented by "veins" of energy crawling through it that glow with a blue-ish hue. These "veins" are very erratic as they change direction abruptly with perfect 90-degree angles. This specific core could be used to power a variety of things but is currently acting not only as a Arcane Focus but as the "battery" for a Warforged named Novel.

Stage 1

While the Ancient Weave Core is being used to power an Automaton in Stage 1, their fists become weapons and are able to exert energy to help protect:

• Hypocharged Core: As a reaction, once per long rest, you can Hypocharge your core for enhanced abilities for 1 minute (10 Rounds).
  • Empowered Strikes: Your unarmed strikes gain more power when striking. Gain an additional 1d8 Lightning Damage to your Unarmed Strikes.
  • Reactive Energy Field: You deal 1d6 Lightning Damage to any who successfully land a strike against you.

Stage 2

While the Ancient Weave Core is being used to power an Automaton in Stage 2, they are able to Supercharge their bodies for enhanced effects:

• Supercharged Core: As a reaction, once per long rest, you can Supercharge your core for enhanced abilities for 1 minute (10 Rounds). During this time, you are unable to use Spells and lose concentration on all spells. Upon leaving this Supercharged state, you gain 1 level of exhaustion:
  •  Empowered Strikes: 1d8 Lightning Damage > 2d8 Lightning Damage and +4 to hit.
  • Reactive Energy Field: 1d6 Lightning Damage > 2d6 Lightning Damage and gain 1d4 AC.
