Aerondight
A magical silver alloy longsword of unknown origins, although its design and composition seem to indicate it was forged for monster hunting.
Aerondight comes with a unique 1h (1d10) and 2h (1d12) piercing attack which will draw from the player's Dexterity modifier instead of strength.
Each blow dealt to monsters generates charges which increase the sword's damage by 1. (up to 10 at level 5). Charges are lost over time or when receiving damage. Once fully charged Aerondight glows a deep firey orange. (Aerondight's charges are limited by the wielder's level, only able to obtain 2 charges per level, up to level 5 where the full combo can be used).
At 5 uninterrupted strikes, there's a 50% chance to deal critical damage to monsters. (regardless of dice roll). A fully-charged sword has a 99% chance to deal critical damage to monsters. (if the critical fails then the sword loses half of its charge). (Roll d100 for critical chance).
Killing a Monster with a fully Charged sword will expend its charge to permanently increase the weapon's damage by 1 up to a max of 5, (increasing by 5 every 2 levels).
Fury
(Unlocked at level 7)
Once Aerondight is fully charged then the collected 10 charges can be discharged on the next attack dealing massive damage. (Roll 1d4 to determine the damage multiplier). If a monster is killed with this ability it does not increase Aerondight's max damage. (Must be used with 2 hands). (This ability can only be used once per short rest, and uses your entire turn).
On the pommel, there are 3 spaces for engraved magical gemstones to further increase Aerondight's abilities. Once inserted the gem cannot be removed without shattering all of the other gems that have been inserted. (The quality of the gem will depend on how many charges it gets). (The gems can only be inserted by a master swordsmith, significantly increasing in cost the more gems that are added).
Aerondight's base damage can only be improved by its magical ability or by a master swordsmith as it is beyond the knowledge of regular smiths. (i.e. increasing it to +1,2 or 3)
If Aerondight is used to kill Non-magical/Monster beings (i.e. Humanoids/Beasts), then it loses 1 point of damage.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
Notes: Damage: Piercing, Damage: Piercing, Bonus: Magic, Damage, Combat, Versatile, Sap
