Armillary Ring

This silver ring folds out into an armillary sphere. In Celestial, an onyx inlay reads, "When faith is wayward, let the stars lead you back." The Armillary ring was created by clerics for an Underdark expedition.

When attuned you gain innate knowledge of which direction is north and the remaining hours until the next sunrise or sunset. You have advantage on ability checks to navigate with the aid of nature, such as by the stars, or natural landmarks.

Once per day the ring can be unfolded into an armillary sphere and tossed into the air to be activated. It becomes an illusory depiction of the night sky as it would appear to you if unobstructed. This lasts for 1 hour, until the wearer ends it, or moves more than 60 feet from where it was activated. When the effect ends the ring appears on your finger. The exacting accuracy of the illusion allows one to determine the date, perform various forms of divination, teach the constellations, their movements, and how to navigate by them, as well as witness events including eclipses, shooting stars, or the moons destruction.
