Needles used in a system of integrative medicine that involves pricking the skin or tissues with these needles, can be used to alleviate pain and treat various physical, mental, and emotional conditions. Or in the hand of a skilled practitioner can be used to cause harm, discomfort, paralyses, even death by blocking the flow of ones Ki.

When you score critical hit with these needles the target has to make a constitution saving throw DC of 15, on a failed save the become paralyzed, but at the start of there turn they have a chance to save again. On a success nothing happens.

If the Monk gets up to a paralyzed target withing touching reach and using and action and 5 Ki points to infuse the needle with energy they can then rip it out of the target. The target must make another constitution saving throw DC of 17 at disadvantage, or be knocked unconscious.

Proficiency with a Dart allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
