Arcanist's Friend™ Coffee Pot

Coffee brewed in this pot is particularly potent, good for studying, and keeping your wits about you!

The coffee takes 10 minutes to brew, and coffee for up to six creatures can be brewed at once. Any creatures who drink the coffee are affected by the following effects:

• They have Advantage on Initiative Checks for the next six hours.
• They may add 1d4 to any Ability Check for researching, if delving into texts for hours on end is involved (for the next six hours).
• They may not begin a Long Rest for the next six hours.

Addictive. A creature who has drunk this coffee on five of the last seven days becomes addicted. That creature no longer gains any benefit from drinking the coffee brewed in the pot, but is still affected by the restriction on long rests. The creature must drink coffee brewed with this pot, or be affected by the following withdrawal effects:

• They have Disadvantage on Initiative Checks for the first six hours after ending a Long Rest.
• They must subtract 1d4 to any Ability Check for researching, if delving into texts for hours on end is involved, for the first six hours after ending a Long Rest.

These effects can be removed until the next dawn by drinking coffee brewed in the pot, or by overcoming the addiction. The addiction can be overcome by being subjected to an effect or spell which cures Disease, or by abstaining from drinking coffee from a coffee pot like this for 14 consecutive days.
