Description
This armcannon is a magic weapon crafted by the “Autonomous Smith” in the city of Goldmistral. It is attached to your arm, and is inseparable from you as long as you're attuned to it. To attune to this item, you must hold it against your forearm for the entire attunement period. This weapon, while attuned, replaces your entire arm.
Attack Modes
You can use the harpoon head to stab at your enemies like a normal blade. (1d6)
You can launch the harpoon at an enemy within 120 feet. (1d6)
Other Functions
Recover: As a bonus action, you can retract the fired harpoon back into the launcher. The harpoon will return immediately, but you will not be able to launch it again until your next turn.
Electrify: You can electrify the harpoon at will. This will add 1d10 of lightning damage to your 1d6 harpoon attack. This ability will not recharge until combat is over. (1d6+1d10)
Pressurized Launch: As a bonus action, you can wind the chains of the harpoon tighter, and then release the harpoon with more force. This will double your harpoons damage. (1d6 Doubled) [A harpoon used in this way will take be embedded into a surface on a miss and will require 2 rounds with the recover function or a DC15 Strength check to dislodge.]
Final Notes
This weapon is a custom item. It is designed for Tony Smith, and is his Legacy Weapon. It is possible these abilities and functions may change or be rebalanced in the future.
In case you’re wondering, you can use the Electrify and Pressurized Launch at the same time. A critical hit with both would be 1d6 + 6 x 2 + 1d10 before modifiers. (Usually in our games the players max the second die on a crit, so the “6” in that equation represents the crit.)
Proficiency with a Javelin allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.
Notes: Damage: Lightning, Damage: Piercing, Warforged, Damage, Combat, Thrown, Slow
