This double barreled, lever action rifle was created with the combined efforts of a powerful sorcerer and a master gunsmith. It's inner mechanics allow it to fire many rounds without the need to reload as frequently as a standard Musket but lacks the same fire power as heavier rifles. Its upper barrel fires conventional rounds while the lower barrel fires a deadly secondary barrage. Additionally, the end of the rifle has a mount for attaching a properly modified dagger as a bayonet. The body of the rifle itself is made of Adamantine and appears a dark, matte grey. The grips on the rifle are textured, wrapped in leather made from the scales of a white dragon.
The Arcane Repeater deals 2d6 piercing damage. It has a bonus of +2 to attack and damage rolls. It's range is 300/800 ft. It misfires only on a roll of 1 and must be wielded with two hands. It can be fired 7 times before requiring to be reloaded. Additionally, it can be reloaded with rounds still in the chamber due to its lever action reloading system.
When using a dagger as a bayonet, the attack rolls are made with Strength and do not receive the bonus to attack and damage rolls of the Arcane Repeater, instead using whatever bonuses and magical effects the dagger may possess.
This weapon has 3 charges. While holding it, you can use an action to expend 1 of its charges to cast the Conjure Volley spell from the lower barrel. Instead of using the range of the spell as listed in the players hand book, you may pick a point within the short range of the rifle. Characters with the Sharpshooter feat can pick anywhere within the Long range of the Rifle to target the volley.
The Arcane Repeater regains 1d3 expended charges daily at dawn.
This weapon is designed to function using the rules of the Gunslinger, Fighter Sub-class published by Matthew Mercer.
It’s up to you to decide whether a character has proficiency with a firearm. Characters in most D&D worlds wouldn’t have such proficiency. During their downtime, characters can use the training rules in the Player’s Handbook to acquire proficiency, assuming that they have enough ammunition to keep the weapons working while mastering their use.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.
Notes: Requires Attunement by a Gunslinger Fighter by crafting the weapon with the assistance of a powerful Sorcerer or Wizard, Damage, Combat, Range, Two-Handed, Ammunition (Firearms), Reload, Slow
