The Armor of the Fire Giant Champion is a set of +2 plate armor, made from a combination of blackened starfall ore and obsidian. This armor was crafted by the fire giant master blacksmith Sigant of Hroksholt for the champion of arena the Festival of Surtr.
While attuned to the Armor of the Fire Giant Champion, you have resistance to fire damage, and your Strength score becomes 25 if it isn’t already 25 or higher.
You also gain the following abilities:
- Flaming Charge - If you move at least 20 feet straight toward a creature before you hit it with a weapon attack on the same turn, that weapon attack deals an additional 2d6 fire damage and, if the creature is of one size larger then you or smaller, that target must succeed on a DC 18 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
- Flaming Wrath - As an action, you can activate this ability for 1 minute, gaining the following benefits for the duration:
- When you hit with a melee weapon attack that normally deals bludgeoning or slashing damage, it deals fire damage instead.
- The armor glows red and sheds bright light in 20ft and dim light out to 40ft.
- Your size becomes large.
- Your attacks deal an extra 1d6 damage.
Once you use the armor's Flaming Wrath property, that property can’t be used again until the next dawn.
Crafting this armor requires a merging a belt of fire giant strength and plate armor with fire resistance, both of which are consumed in the crafting.
While attuned to this item, you cannot benefit from the use of a shield or attune any belts of giant strength. Attuning to a belt of giant strength will end attunement to this armor.
Plate consists of shaped, interlocking metal plates to cover the entire body. A suit of plate includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and thick layers of padding underneath the armor. Buckles and straps distribute the weight over the body.
