The Auleon family crafted weapons for over three hundred years, so an Auleon sword is is not necessarily rare, but most known examples are in the collection of rich nobles. The blades have magic forged into the metal. Many different magical effects were achieved. The most common being Sharpening and Flame. All require regular care to maintain the effect. A green gem set over the family crest marks the weapon as a genuine Auleon. Forgeries are made but either the family crest is a poor copy or a magical effect of an accurate crest will blacken the stone over it over a few weeks. Some members were able to add magical effects to materials other than metal and were able to produce weapons such as bows and quarter staves, but these are very rare. Since Auleon weapons have magic worked into the material, if the weapon is broken it will reform over time. Each individual break will take 1d20 days of daily care to mend.
The Sharpness effect on this dagger makes this the sharpest blade you have ever seen. It resists dulling during use and can be honed to it's exceptional sharpness even by someone that is less skilled with a whetstone. A user needs to spend time to sharpen the blade each day that it is used and at least once a week if it is not used. In doing so they are not really physically reforming the metal, but recharging the magic. If neglected for too long it will turn into a dull, pitted, and rusted blade and may never sharpen for the user that neglected it, but if another user obtains the blade and performs the proper care, it will soon revert to it's sharp state. It slices through armor more easily and does more slashing damage.
You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon add an extra 1d4 damage die.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
Notes: Damage: Slashing, Bonus: Melee Attacks, If the weapon has been neglected or if the previous user is dead, it will attune with a new user during one short rest. If it has been taken from a user that has preformed the proper care it will take 1d10 days of care for one short rest per day. Once attuned one short rest needs to be spent in care to maintain attunment each day it is used in combat and one short rest per week if it not being used in combat. If weilded by anyone hostile to the attuned character it will not have any bonus to attack or damage. If used to attack the attuned character it will also attack with disadvantage., Damage, Combat, Versatile, Sap
