Wondrous Item, legendary (requires attunement by a living being via a short rest. )

This amulet's properties can only be ascertained by either the identify spell or a successful DC 25 history ability check by someone proficient in history/knows vampiric lore. The wearer becomes aware of its properties when successfully attuned to it as well.

This amulet is composed of a ruby pendant marked with a runic etching of a vampires' fangs centered in its cut. It is held in place by a golden necklace chain that can be adjusted for proper aesthetic length. When worn and attuned, the wearer's Strength, Dexterity and Charisma increase by 2 to a maximum of 22, overriding one's natural ability score maximum.  Also, when worn by a vampire, or related creature, the wearer's resistance to sunlight increases: The wearer is able to last 1 minute in sunlight without taking any damage from its negative effects, in addition, when damage does begin it is reduced by 10 points per turn, and the wearer also does not have disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks in sunlight.

Curse. This item is cursed with the essence of all the vampires who have worn it in the past. Once attuned to the item the wearer begins undergoing a rapid change to become a vampire if not already one. In 3 days the full change will indefinitely occur and the wearer will become a vampire gaining all the strengths and weaknesses of one in the manner the Dungeon Master feels most appropriate, i.e. a full race change, gaining certain feats/vulnerabilities, etc. Once becoming a vampire, wearing the cursed amulet highly increases one's desire for humanoid blood. At a minimum the wearer will need to consume half of an entire medium humanoid's blood each night; the victim will need to make a DC 18 Constitution saving throw and go into a forced unconscious for 24 hours to recover and survive being drained of half their blood, or die. Blood from another creature, such as a beast or giant, is completely sickening and ineffective to satiate the hunger. After each night of not feeding the required amount the wearer must succeed on a DC 22 Constitution saving throw, increasing by 2 each successful night, or succumb to an insatiable desire to kill and feed; the wearer loses control of their actions until their body innately seeks, kills, and feeds on the most nearby humanoid soul. If still the vampire does not feed after all this, (such as from being restrained long term) after 3 days the wearer's mind is lost forever, their soul dies, and the body begins to start withering to dust.

The amulet can only be removed if the wearer fully dies or the curse is removed. The curse can be removed by nothing short of a wish spell.
