Weapon (rapier), legendary

Aspect of the Dragon is a powerful magic weapon. It was original imbued with a ancient dragon soul; however, the user most commonly would find it unoccupied. It was forged by the dragon gods themselves. It was created to imprison the souls of their enemies to make themselves even more powerful. The blade was later stolen and used against the dragons that created it. The dragons soon lost their ability to enchant weapons in such a way, and the sword became one of a kind. If a player comes upon it, this will most likely happen in a gem dragons treasury. The player that touches' the blade must be chaotic, otherwise, the blade explodes and they are thrown back, taking 1d6 force damage. If the player is chaotic, the sword bonds with them.

This sword has an uncanny ability to capture and use the souls of creatures after it kills them. It can capture and recapture a creatures soul once every 48 hours. Each creature type gives the blade a different enchantment. Although the DM decides what bonus the blade obtains, enchantments are not limited to +1, +2, etc. The blade can also gain enchantments involving the element of the creature it kills. An example would be as such: if the blade were to slay a fire elemental, it could gain the flaming enchantment. The higher the level of the creature the blade slays, the more powerful the enchantment will be. If the player uses the sword to kill a cursed creature, the sword is cursed the same way until the soul is changed.

If a player were to crit a d100 upon finding the  blade, they find it with a elder (extra grumpy) dragon soul inside. The dragon subtly hints at his desire to be released from the blade, for he is too proud to ask you directly. If the player chooses to release the dragon, the dragon reluctantly says that he owes the player a favor; he may then be called upon once to grant the player a wish. This wish must be deemed appropriate by the DM, for if the DM says no, so does the dragon.

Before releasing the dragon, all players in the party gain the knowledge that while the dragon is in the blade, the blade has power equal to Tiamat's. The blade cannot be sold or given away, for if the player tries, it reappears in the hand of the bonded player after they move 30 feet away from it. The sword cannot be destroyed.
