Created by the brilliant, but eccentric Gnome Artificer, Gurnabocktaloin Schnivleckintavish, the shield appears at first to be a dull, rough, leather-covered round shield. However, a secondary inspection to a skilled blacksmith reveals the master craftsmanship employed to make it appear thus, with stitched magical runes as the seams holding the leather cover onto the metal shield. A tiny silver mirror is sewn into the center of shield. Further study shows the leather is made from the skin of a Rakshasa, and is slightly striped in pattern. Detect Magic will not work on this shield, as its "donor" was immune to magical detection. However, three Identify spells, cast by three mages at the same time will reveal all its properties.
While worn, the shield is imbued with, and constantly confers upon its user, the following spell effects: Counterspell, Shield, Nondetection, Mind Blank
The user may trigger (only upon themselves) the following spell effects once, per long rest: Antimagic Field, Stoneskin, Magic Circle (note: Antimagic Field will negate the bonuses and effects of any and all other magical items worn or wielded by the user until they leave the area where the spell was cast or the spell ends.)
Unfortunately, the shield also fills the user with a severe distaste for magic and anyone who uses it. If wielded for more than 24 hours straight, the user will start acting hostilely toward friends and acquaintances who use magic, or magic items, which they can smell on others. Within that first 24 hours, the odor of magic becomes more and more repulsive to the wearer and they become increasingly irritable with those using or wearing magic. Removing the shield for the same period of time worn nullifies the effect.
Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
Notes: Bonus: Armor Class, Fighter, Paladin, or Cleric
