This shield has a large, purple gemstone at its center. When you are the target of a spell of 1st level or higher that targets only you while carrying this shield, you can use your reaction to attempt to redirect the spell. Roll 1d8. If the roll is higher than the spell’s level, the spell targets another creature of your choice you can see within 30 feet of you. If the roll is equal to or lower than the spell’s level, the spell isn’t redirected and the shield loses its magic as the stone in its center crumbles to dust.
