Arrow of Seeking

Imbued with divination magic, this arrow has the ability to seek out a creature or target when fired from a longbow or shortbow.

You don’t make a ranged attack roll for the attack. Instead, verbally identify one creature or target you have seen in the past minute while drawing the bow.

Once released, the arrow flies toward that creature or target, moving around obstacles and corners if necessary, and ignoring both three-quarters cover and half cover. If the creature or target is within the weapon’s range, and there is a path large enough for the arrow to travel to the creature or target, it must make a Dexterity saving throw.

  • On a failed save the creature or target is hit taking 1d4+1 piercing damage plus an extra 1d6 force damage, and you learn the creature or target’s current location. The arrow then disappears after one round of combat.
  • On a successful save, the arrow glances off the creature or target inflicting only half as much piercing & force damage, and you don’t learn it's location. The arrow disappears after traveling as far as it can.
