This long brass and adamantine balista bolt has a button hidden on the side. You can use an bonus action to press the button, which causes the bolt to become magically fixed in place once it has hit its destination. Until you or another creature uses an action to push the button again, the bolt doesn't move, even if it is defying gravity. The bolt can hold up to 8,000 pounds of weight. More weight causes the bolt to deactivate and fall.
A creature can use an action to make a DC 30 Strength check, moving the fixed bolt up to 10 feet on a success. If the creature hit by the bolt they can makes a DC 20 investigation check. If they can find the button they can deactivate it, at the end of their turn.
Proficiency with a Javelin allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.
