Weapon (longbow), rare (requires attunement)

This fine yew bow was once owned by the great huntress Allemis Satran. The flexible but firm wood is carved with simple line drawings of many different beasts. Once attuned the beasts come alive and shift position each morning. This magic bow grants +1 to attack and damage rolls.

When you kill a beast or monstrosity with a this bow roll a d20, if the roll exceeds a DC 10+CR the creature is absorbed into the bow and becomes a carving on it. As a bonus action, the wielder can touch one of these carvings to summon the spirit of the animal to aid them. Once summoned the carving vanishes permanently from the bow.

The summoned creature is identical to the original except that as an action it can shift to the Ethereal plane or back again. The summoned animal is friendly to you and obeys your verbal commands to the best of its ability. You can dismiss the creature as an action. Otherwise, the beast remains until your next long rest, until it is reduced to 0 hit points or until you use this feature again.

When this bow is initially found the DM rolls to determine the initial number of carvings of each beast present:

Number Beast
1 giant scorpion
2 rhinoceros
1d4+1 (3) giant eagle
1d4+2 (4) dire wolf
2d4+2 (6) elk

Proficiency with a Longbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.

Notes: Bonus: Magic, Summoning, Damage, Combat, Ammunition, Heavy, Range, Two-Handed, Slow
