Uses smaller bolts than an average light crossbow, and has a damage die reduction to a d4+1 to match. These bolts must be made by hand (D10 minus sleight of hand skill rolled for number of hours it takes to craft 15 of them, minimum of one hour) or by a blacksmith at cost of 5 for 8 gold. They are crafted in such a way that they can be loaded into the crossbow at once and satisfying the free action loading mechanic. As a secondary function, it is able to rapid fire 5 bolts in a single round, each one doing 1d4+1 damage.
The crossbow malfunctions and jams. Everytime a bolt is fired, a d20 is rolled. Dc6 to continue firing. A failure results in a jam. The next turn must be spent repairing the jam, rolling a d20 with a DC7+sleight of hand to succeed.
