Wondrous Item, rare

A mad painter whose mind had been lost long ago, a labyrinth of horrors that twist the mind and the body, these were the stories of Godfrey Le Blanc, also known as the Mad Painter, who turned his Mansion into a dungeon of horrors beyond comprehensions. Most people who venture in do not return, but those who do have found special magic items that cannot be found anywhere else. This is but one of many that were found in the horrible mansion.
This paintbrush, made of an elder tree with hair from the Feywild itself for the brush, never seems to run out of paint. This brush has a special property to it that allows its creations to come to life, albeit temporarily.

As an action, you may expend a charge use the Animator's Brush on a flat surface in order to create an animated painting.

An animated painting is a small Construct with the following stats:
HP: 25,  AC: 16, Attack: +6 to hit, 1d8 + 2 damage, Str: 6, Dex: 14, Con: 10, Int: 3, Wis: 3, Cha: 1.
Its speed is 30 feet. It has Blindsight with a radius of 30 feet and is blind beyond that distance. When the animated object drops to 0 Hit Points, it melts into a puddle of paint.

The animated painting can follow basic orders, such as to protect a certain location or to attack a target. Otherwise, the painting will simply stand its ground and protect against hostile creatures. The painting may also disguise itself as a regular painting on a flat surface, which will appear to be nothing out of the ordinary unless a creature is already aware of the animated painting, or the creature passes a DC 15 Intelligence (Investigation) check. Per the DM's discretion, if this creature is fully aware of their location (for instance, if this is in their home or a place they spend a lot of time) or if they are fully unaware of the location (if they've never seen this location before the painting took its place) they may grant advantage or disadvantage on this check.

If you Command the painting to Attack, it can make a single melee Attack against a creature within 5 feet of it. At the time of painting the creation, you may determine that it uses bludgeoning,  slashing or piercing damage depending the form of the painting.

The animated painting remains until it drops to 0 hit points, the brush is used again, or 24 hours passes, whichever happens first.

This item has one charge that can be recharged via a long rest.
