Staff (quarterstaff), rare (requires attunement by a Wizard)

You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. The quarterstaff can also be used as a spellcasting focus for Artificer, Fighter (Eldritch Knight), Rogue (Arcane Trickster) and Wizard spells.

At Wizard levels 4, 6 and 8, the quarterstaff gains additional features:

Level 4: You learn the Shillelagh cantrip, which counts as a Wizard cantrip for you, but doesn't count against your number of known cantrips.

Level 6: As a bonus action, you can unprepare one of your prepared Wizard spells that is in your Spellbook, and then prepare a different Wizard spell that's in your Spellbook and you don't have prepared. The new spell must be of the same level as the previous spell or lower. You can do this a number of times before a long rest equal to half of your Intelligence modifier, rounding up.

Level 8: Choose two Wizard spells in your Spellbook that are of the 3rd level or lower. As long as you remain attuned to the quarterstaff, these spells are always prepared and don't count against the number of spells you can prepare.

Proficiency with a Quarterstaff allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Topple. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can force the creature to make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 plus the ability modifier used to make the attack roll and your Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, the creature has the Prone condition.

Notes: Bonus: Magic, Wizard, Damage, Utility, Combat, Focus, Versatile, Topple
