This magical item takes the form of a silver belt with a buckle shaped like a wolf's head. This belt is charged with the soul of an alpha wolf, making other wolves fall under the wearer's command.
If a wolf, winterwolf, werewolf, worg, hellhound, or similar lupine creature enters within 60 feet of you and you can see it, you can use a bonus action to make a check. The DC is 14 plus half the creature's intelligence score (not the modifier) plus the amount of lupine creatures are already under your control minus your charisma modifier. If you succeed, the lupine creature falls under your control until it dies. If it hits zero hit points, it doesn't make death saving throws, it just dies.
A lupine creature under control of a creature wearing acts on its own initiative during combat, and will do whatever the creature it is listening to tells it to do. The creature acts as if it was a character being played by the player of the character wearing the belt. If it's not told to do anything, it will take the Disengage action and do nothing else.
The lupine creature has all the same stats except for it's intelligence score, which becomes yours if it's below yours, and the languages it knows how to speak and read, which is added to by the languages you know how to speak and read if it doesn't already know them.
The belt can command up to a certain level of wolves:
- 5 for rare
- 7 for very rare
- 10 for legendary.
If the creature wearing the belt is a lupine creature such as a werewolf, the total wolves it can command is multiplied by 1.5.
If you try to make a lupine creature fall under your command but you already have all the wolves the belt can command under your control, make a Wisdom saving throw. The DC is 14 plus half the creature's intelligence score plus the amount of wolves currently under your control. If you fail, all the wolves break free of your control and immediately become hostile. If you succeed, nothing happens.
