Bracers used when creating the original divine seals on the Material plane that keep at bay the other realms. Made of pure Arcane construction, it seems to reach out and protect the very matter and people around it, whether they like it or not. Abjuration flows through the metal on these bracers, and urge the wielder to protect and deny outside forces. What would you do to protect that which you hold most dear?
This artifact is one of the Azure Shards, a set of magical items each the physical manifestations of magic in the world from the arcane azure, the magical atmosphere that encompasses the world. When the Azure was first weaved, these were the tools of its creation, manifested and wielded by the first human, Boccob, the god of arcane magic. These bracers were the focus of keeping the other realms out, and created the foundations for The Horizon, the boundary between the material plane and the realms beyond.
After the Crimson Tide, where the blood war first came into the material plane in the Remnant Wastes and started the Era of Enduring Strife, the Shards were lost to the winds after Boccob seemed to vanish from the material plane, and taking his magics with him.
