This shield made by Astral Elves attaches to your arm and is collapsible down to a size that only covers your forearm. It can be expanded or retracted as a free interaction on your turn. Due to its surprising light weight and the way it attaches to your arm, you can wield this shield without it occupying one of your hands, leaving both hands free to use weapons, cast spells, or perform other actions.
This shield absorbs kinetic energy and stores it to release at the opportune moment. Whenever a creature that is large or smaller hits you with a melee weapon attack, you can use your reaction to cause a wave of force to erupt from the shield, adding 1 to your armor class until the end of the turn and potentially turning the hit into a miss. Whether or not the attack is turned into a miss, the creature is knocked back 5 feet.
Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
