Centuries ago necromacers used ancient rituals with the bodies of the dead to preserve their souls within, allowing the users to create undead from nothing. These crystals are the result of said rituals and are hard to find. A user can take 10 minutes with a body saving the soul within allows it to be used when needed.
the soul has 8 charges and as an action the user can call one of the souls to its aid:
- 1 charge - Zombie
- 3 charges - specter
- 5 charges - Mummy
- 7 charges - Beholder Zombie
These creatures will fight along you side yourself and any creature you count as an ally. You can speak with the creature telepathiclly as long as you have the crystal on you
If the user uses all 8 charges of the crystal they must made a DC16 Constitution save or have their soul placed in the crystal itself, ending the users life. No divination magic can bring the users soul back.
