Weapon (trident), legendary (requires attunement by a creature that is a or neutral/good alignment )

This is a trident that glows a deep red. When attuned to the trident creatures have a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

Reaction Creatures can also use the trident's reaction to block incoming damage. If they use the reaction when taking damage, the damage is halved. This can be used 1D4 times every long rest. Creatures can expend a 6th level spell slot or higher to use this reaction.

Spell Casting This magic item allows the user to cast Fire Bolt and Fireball at will. Fireball casts as a 5th level spell.

Attack Actions The following actions can be taken when using an attack action:

  • Trident Slash: The attuned creature slashes forward with the trident three times, sending three red slashes forward. These slashes go in a straight line for about 20 feet over one round. Any creature in the way of the slash must make a DC 18 Dexterity Saving throw or take 6d8 slashing damage per slash that hits. The saving throw can be repeated for each slash. On a successful save, the rest of the slashes do half damage. This can be used 1D6 times every long rest. A 5th or high spell slot can be expended to use this action.
  • Colored Slash: Identical to the Trident Slash but the slashes are colors. The first slash is orange, the second blue, the third orange, and there is a fourth random one. Roll a 1d4. On an odd roll, the fourth one is orange. On an even roll, the fourth one is blue. Any creatures caught in the colored slashes can make one of two actions as a reaction, granted by the colored slashes. They can move 5ft towards the slash or away from it, or they can stay where they are and do nothing. If a blue slash hits and the creature is moving, the creature takes 4d20 damage. If a orange slash hits and the creature is not moving, then the creature takes 3d20 damage. This can be used 1D4 times every long rest. A 6th or high spell slot can be expended to use this action.
  • Trident Throw: The attuned creature can real back and throw the trident forward at a creature of their choice within 30 feet of them in their line of sight. The creature can either make a DC 20 Dexterity or Strength check. On a failed check, the target takes 6d20 damage and is pushed back 10 feet and knocked prone. On a successful Dexterity check, the creature takes 3d20 damage and is only pushed back 5 feet. The creature is still is knocked prone. On a successful Strength check, the creature takes 4d20 damage and is not pushed back or knocked prone. This can be used once per long rest. A 8th level spell slot or high can be used to cast this.
  • Fire Ring: A ring of fire circles in on the attuned creature. The attuned creature and any creature they are allies with are immune to this attack. The fire ring starts out 50 feet from the caster. The ring moves in 10 ft every round. Any enemy creature within the fire ring when it reaches them must make a DC 15 Dexterity throw. On a failed check, the creature takes 4d10 damage and is pulled with the ring of fire. On a successful check, the creature is not pulled with the ring or fire. If a creature is pulled all the way to the center of the ring, the creature is shot back 50 feet to by a massive explosion. They take 6d10 damage from the explosion and are knocked prone. Any creatures within the 50 foot radius but not in the middle take 2d10 and are shot to the 50 foot mark, but are not knocked prone.
