Weapon (laser pistol), rare

Custom built and modified by Dapplewing himself, this arcane weapon packs a heavy punch. It's arcane core, while relible, when misshandle can cause the weapon to malfunction. Attack rolls made with this weapon below a 3 (before modifiers) cause the core to misfire. If a misfire accures, roll a d4 and refer to the table below:

Weapon Malfunctions:
1 or 2 - Arcane Core cracks from misfire. After 4 cracks to the core, the power source is lost completely.
3 - A backfire shot is released and the weilder takes 1d12 raident damage.
4 - The core stalls, no shot is released and a DC 12 Arcana check is required to fix the stall.

When you hit an undead creature with an attack using this weapon, the attack deals an extra 1d6 damage of the weapon’s type, and the creature has disadvantage on saving throws against effects that turn undead until the start of your next turn.

It’s up to you to decide whether a character has proficiency with a firearm. Characters in most D&D worlds wouldn’t have such proficiency. During their downtime, characters can use the training rules in the Player’s Handbook to acquire proficiency, assuming that they have enough ammunition to keep the weapons working while mastering their use.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.

Notes: Damage: Additional, Range, Ammunition (Firearms), Reload, Vex
