Weapon (rapier), legendary (requires attunement by a fighter, rouge, paladin or cleric)

Anaklusmos is the old and legendary sword of Herakles. It was given to him by his first wife, Megara. He used it to kill her a few years later, and it was also his weapon of choice when facing the armies of Xerxes together with Odysseus, Leonidas and Achilles. When Herakles was captured he didn't have the sword in his possesion. It was in Jirver's treassury at the time.

Anaklusmos is a magical sword and has a +3 bonus to damage and to hit rolls. Also, if the creature it is fighting is a greek monster Anaklusmos deals an extra 2d8 piercing damage.

You can make several attacks with Anaklusmos every round. After making your normal attack(s) you can roll a constitution save (DC10). On a successful save you get to attack again, without it requiring any action. You can do this as many times as you wish, but the DC increases with 1d12 every time after the first time you use this ability. Failing the constitution save gives you one level of exhaustion.

Soul of the wielder
Anaklusmos is a sentient sword which understands the situation it's wielder is curretly in. Because of this, the sword has the ability to help it's wielder in various ways, and it's powers are therefore shaped by the wielder. For example, if one of it's wielders hate magic, and have a hard time dealing with magic, Anaklusmos will find a way to help deal with it. If one wielder is dealing very strong attacks but is very slow, Anaklusmos will find a way to increase it's own speed. As an action you can roll a Arcana check to get through to Anaklusmos and get it to do something for you. Anaklusmos can do more or less anything, but the DM decides upon the DC.

Herakles hatred of magic
Anaklusmos was wielded by Herakles for several years. This time taught it to fight against magical effects and abilities. If you are attuned to Anaklusmos and targeted with a spell such as fireball, cone of cold etc Anaklusmos may, at the DMs discretion, affect the spell or ability in some way which will help you and your companions.

Proficiency with a Rapier allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
