Weapon (greataxe), rare (requires attunement)

A massive single-headed Axe with a large blue gem-adorned on the back of the head. When attunement is complete the gem will light up and will remain lit while in the hands of the one attuned. When Wielded in combat each swing with the axe feels powerful and on a successful strike it sends the target flying backward with the momentum of the swing. This weapon acts in three stages

Stage 1: This is the neutral stage your first successful attack will knock the enemy back 5 ft, deal 1 extra force damage and the axe will start to glow more as it reaches stage 2.

Stage 2: The axe now knocks enemies back 10 ft and deals an extra 2 force damage on a hit. A successful hit at stage two will bring the axe to stage three. Missing an attack at this stage set the axe back to stage 1 and deals 2 damage to the wielder.

Stage 3: The axe head is now engulfed in the blue glow and on a hit will knock the enemies back 15 ft and knock them prone. The axe also now deals 3 extra damage on a hit. Missing an attack at this stage sets the axe back to stage one and deals 3 damage to the wielder.

If no attacks are made in a 1 min period the axe sets itself back to stage 1 without harming the wielder.

Proficiency with a Greataxe allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Cleave. If you hit a creature with a melee attack roll using this weapon, you can make a melee attack roll with the weapon against a second creature within 5 feet of the first that is also within your reach. On a hit, the second creature takes the weapon’s damage, but don’t add your ability modifier to that damage unless that modifier is negative. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
