This +1 Greataxe has three charges. After rolling damage with an attack, the wielder can spend one charge of the axe to store the damage dealt until the next sunrise. While storing damage in this way, at the beginning of the attack action, the wielder can choose to use up all of this damage, splitting it however they want between increasing their to-hit modifier and/or increasing the damage of the attack, if it hits, on a 1 to 1 scale. For example, if an attack hits a creature for 12 damage, the wielder can spend a charge to store that 12 damage. Then, for their next attack, the wielder can choose to use this stored damage to add a +3 to their attack modifier, and a +9 to their damage roll if they hit. The axe's charges can not be spent if it is storing damage in this way.
If the wielder is at 0 hp while the axe has damage stored, at the beginning of their turn, before death saves are rolled, the wielder regains hp, as long as they are withing 15 feet of the axe, equal to the damage stored which is then spent and used up.
This greataxe regains 1d4-1 charges at dawn.
Proficiency with a Greataxe allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Cleave. If you hit a creature with a melee attack roll using this weapon, you can make a melee attack roll with the weapon against a second creature within 5 feet of the first that is also within your reach. On a hit, the second creature takes the weapon’s damage, but don’t add your ability modifier to that damage unless that modifier is negative. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
Notes: a wielder spending 1 hour attuning to it within 24 hours of slaying a creature with more than 100 hp., Heavy, Two-Handed, Cleave
