Arrow of Returning

An arrow of returning is designed to return to its firer's quiver after shot, whether the shot was a success or a failure. It has barbs on the arrowhead, like a fishing hook. If the shot succeeds, the arrow rips backwards through the target's wound, dealing half the amount of damage it dealt while piercing its target. When the arrow of returning crits, it does double damage on the initial piercing as well as returning. If the shot fails, the arrow still returns to your quiver at the end of your turn. 

There are other magical items similar to the arrow of returning, such as bolts of returning, but arrows are more common.
