These protective gorgets are made of pure force. As such, they are invisible, but they do spark or glow momentarily in a distinctive fashion when any of their protections activate. The guards have the effects of both an amulet of protection against detection and location and a brooch of shielding. Each guard also makes its particular head immune to the behading effect of a vorpal blade.

Demogorgon created two of these protective gorgets, one for each of his necks.
