Weapon (warhammer), very rare (requires attunement by a Halfling)

Given to you by the goddess of the Halflings, Yondalla, you are the only one who can wield this weapon. This simple yet elegant looking weapon feels light in your hand and is easy to move, so much so that it feels like an extension of your arm. It's so easy to move that if feels perfectly balanced, however when you pass it off to the always-graceful elf, he immediately drops it on his foot. Picking it back up and laughing at the elf, you decide that this is going to be a wonderful weapon.

  • You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
  • It gains an additional +3 if being used against the undead for a total of +5 to hit and damage.
  • It has the thrown property with a normal range of 20 feet and a long range of 60 feet.
  • When you hit with a ranged attack using this weapon, it deals an extra 1d8 damage or, if the target is a giant, 2d8 damage.
  • Immediately after the attack, hit or miss, the weapon flies back to your hand.
  • The halfling bearer is granted an automatic warhammer proficiency.
  • If anyone other than a halfling tries to pick it up, they will automatically fumble and drop it with it landing on their foot causing a 1d4 of damage (no savings throw.)
  • If the opponent tries to catch it, even if successful, unless they are a halfling they will immediately fumble it and it will return to you.
  • You can call it to your hand from up to 60 feet away so long as there are no obstructions. (If obstructed, it is the DM's preference.)

Once per week: Screaming Shield - when you throw the hammer, it will hit the closest target and not do damage but it will release a sonic pulse and a flash of light that affects ALL targets (up to 10') and leaves them dazed and confused for 3 rounds. (no savings throw) While it should be just enough time for the owner to escape, all party members must either be given a warning or they TOO will suffer from the effects.

If being held by a halfling it weighs 1/2 pound, but to any other race, it weighs 20 pounds or more and they will automatically fumble it.

Proficiency with a Warhammer allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Push. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can push the creature up to 10 feet straight away from yourself if it is Large or smaller.
