You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
While aboard a vessel you command, you have a climbing speed equal to your walking speed, advantage on all Charisma-based checks, and the ability to communicate with any members of your crew as if with the Message cantrip.
In addition, you can use the cutlass to cast the following spells without components. You can cast Alarm designating the entire ship, but only the ship.

Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
