This beautiful hand Crossbow is adorned with intricate engravings of playing cards and spades. When you wield Ace of Spades, you gain the following benefits:
- You have a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with Ace of Spades.
- Whenever you score a critical hit with Ace of Spades, you can activate the weapon's explosive payload. When you do so, the target and any creature within a 10-foot radius of it must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC 15) or take an additional 2d6 force damage.
- Once per day, you can use the weapon's signature Trait, "Memento Mori." When you do so, the next time you hit a creature with Ace of Spades, it deals an additional 4d6 force damage. This effect lasts until you use it or finish a long rest.
- Whenever you score a killing blow with Ace of Spades, you regain 1d6 hit points unless you are at your hit point maximum.
- While wielding Ace of Spades, you also have advantage on Intimidation Checks. Additionally, the weapon functions as a magical focus for any spellcasting classes that require one.
Proficiency with a Hand Crossbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
