Wondrous Item, rare (requires attunement by a proficient engraver or similar craftsperson who is not a Wright)

This well-made set of engraver's tools is lovingly packed away in a worn leather case. The tools are made of adamantine, a rare metal alloy that the bright people say can no longer be created. It is sometimes found (in very small quantities) in certain meteorites or troves deep below the earth.

When actively using these tools for crafting, you gain a +2 bonus to all rolls related to the crafting attempt. Moreover, as an action, you can use the tools to cast the guidance cantrip on yourself. Once this property is used, it can't be used again until the next dawn.

You may use these tools to etch a fragment of verse or prose into a mundane, non-magical object. When the passage is in the perilous language of the Wrights, but engraved by a non-Wright who has made the words safe, extraordinary effects can manifest. The effect depends on the specific passage, and only one item may be empowered by each passage at a time. The object's new properties, whether active or passive, are only usable by you.

As you learn more of the occult truth of the world, you may acquire passages to etch.

Notes: proficient engraver or similar craftsperson who is not a Wright
