Wondrous Item, legendary (requires attunement)

This small core is composed of ever changing metal plates under a conjuration enchantment to endlessly provide small amounts of Eternity Aether within, and it contains inside it an incredibly tiny Aether Hound. It feeds on the constant supply of Eternity Aether inside it, and its ever growing and hungering mass is, instead, constantly transmuted into more of the plates that make up the core’s structure. The magic within it is able to animate said small plates into equally minute automatons, given life through transmutative animation mirroring the Aether Hound’s behavior inside it, and its constant need to consume and assimilate other objects.

To attune to this item, it must be housed inside your body, permanently changing you and your anatomy forever. You can't voluntarily end your attunement to the core, and trying to remove it from your body would most likely cause your death.

While attuned to this item, you gain the following benefits:

  • You count as a Construct in addition to the creature type determined by your race, though you can still be affected by spells and effects that don’t work on constructs.
  • You have advantage on saving throws against being poisoned, you have resistance to poison damage, you don’t need to eat or drink, and you are immune to disease.
  • You can don only armor with which you have proficiency. To don armor, you must incorporate it into your body over the course of 1 hour, during which you must remain in contact with the armor. To doff armor, you must spend 1 hour removing it. You can rest while donning or doffing armor in this way. While you live, your armor can't be removed from your body against your will.
  • The Aether Eternium Core can’t be targeted and you can’t be disarmed of it against your will, as it is part of your body.
  • Over the course of one hour, which can be done as part of a short or long rest, you can incorporate a magic item onto your own body, as long as you are attuned to it. You can’t be disarmed of a magic item incorporated this way against your will, and you may outwardly extend or retract them as a bonus action on your turn.

In addition, the core has 2 charges, which replenish when you finish a short or long rest rest, and you can use them to perform either of the following effects:

  • As an action, you can expend 1 charge and use the automatons of the core to build things that weren’t there before. Choose an unoccupied space on a solid surface you can see within 10 feet of you: an item that’s Large or smaller is immediately built there. Its value in gold pieces can’t be greater than 15 times your level, and it disappears after a number of hours equal to half your proficiency bonus (rounded down).
  • As a bonus action, you can expend 1 charge and change the automatons that make up your body into other objects. As long as you have at least a free hand, you can transform said hand into a simple weapon, a martial weapon, a tool of your choice (a kit or supply is not a tool), or any Small or Tiny non magical object whose gold value can’t be greater than 15 times your level. You can transform your hand back into a hand at any point (no action required), and you can transform it back into the transformed object as a bonus action on any subsequent turns. You are considered proficient with a weapon or tool created this way, and if it is a weapon, you have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it and can use your Constitution modifier, instead of Strength or Dexterity, for attack and damage rolls. You lose all benefits from this effect when you finish a short or long rest. The first time you activate this feature after each long rest, it doesn't consume a charge.
  • As a reaction to you or a creature you can see within 30 feet of you being damaged, you may expend one charge and extend the core’s automatons into protection. The creature gains a +4 bonus to their AC or saving throw against that instance of damage, and gains temporary hit points equal to twice your proficiency bonus before the damage is dealt.
