A weapon lost in the time of the Spell Plague, this weapon gets +3 to hit and does 2d12 damage on a hit.

Hungering for souls

Every time you kill something, the soul is pulled into the weapon. It holds a total of 40 souls.

Destructive tendencies

As you use the weapon more frequently, the souls whisper in your ears. If you use this weapon for more than 8 rounds, you take 2d6 psychic damage and every round after that, increase the damage by 3. After attunement, this affect doesn't take place anymore.

Ancient rage

For 20 souls, you enter a state of uncontrolled rage. All damage is halved until you dismiss it as a bonus action. If allies are near, make a wisdom check, DC of 15 to not kill them. The weapon does an extra 6d10 necrotic damage in a melee hit and 4 d10 necrotic damage in a 120 foot sphere.

Dexterity check DC 14+charisma modifier to avoid it. Half damage on a success. 

Proficiency with a Maul allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Topple. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can force the creature to make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 plus the ability modifier used to make the attack roll and your Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, the creature has the Prone condition.
