An arrow of banishment is a magic weapon meant to remove a target from the battle field by sending them to another plane of existence. The target must succeed on a DC 15 Charisma saving throw or be banished.
If the target is native to the plane of existence you're on, you banish the target to a harmless demiplane for 1 minute. While there, the target is incapacitated. The target remains there until the spell ends, at which point the target reappears in the space it left or in the nearest unoccupied space if that space is occupied.
If the target is native to a different plane of existence than the one you're on, the target is banished with a faint popping noise, returning to its home plane. The target will remain there until 5 minutes have passed, the target then reappears in the space it left or in the nearest unoccupied space if that space is occupied.
Once an arrow of banishment is successfully used, it will disintegrate.
Other types of magic ammunition of this kind exist, such as bolts of banishment meant for a crossbow, though arrows are most common.
Proficiency with a Shortbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
