While holding this revolver, you gain a +3 bonus to spell attack rolls and +1 artificer spell save DC. In addition, you ignore half cover when making a spell attack.
A mystical revolver of arcane design using both magic and mechanics. Constructed to fire low velocity, spell-infused rounds This revolver works as a specialized spell focus used to fire magic. Due to the nature of it's construction it is unable to fire standard ammunition and the magical rounds it does fire cause no damage.
It’s up to you to decide whether a character has proficiency with a firearm. Characters in most D&D worlds wouldn’t have such proficiency. During their downtime, characters can use the training rules in the Player’s Handbook to acquire proficiency, assuming that they have enough ammunition to keep the weapons working while mastering their use.
