'Your spells will not aid you here, trespasser.'
This ferocious ancient axe is a prideful symbol of the Duergar, who long ago used these weapons to repel the tyranny of powerful mages. Carved from fallen sky stones and tempered with their very chain's metal, these are etched with their visceral hatred of their oppressors, remnants that stand in firm opposition to magic and those who harness it for ill.
Attacks with this weapon do an extra 2d4 force damage.
Spell Cleave. As a reaction, when targeted by a spell with an attack roll, you can attempt to cleave the spell with the axe as a conduit. The axe absorbs any level of spells under its number of missing charges, gaining that number of charges. If the spell is at a higher level than the missing charges, this effect fails. Cantrips can be cleaved but don't add charges.
This axe can hold a number of charges up to your proficiency bonus. The charges can be expended in the following ways:
- Disrupt (1 charge). As part of the Attack action, on a success, you can use to cast Dispel Magic on the target. You use a +5 bonus for this check.
- Severe (1 charge). You can do an extra 1d8 force damage as part of the attack action. If the target's concentrating on a spell, this extra damage isn't halved for determining the DC for the concentration check.
Proficiency with a Battleaxe allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Topple. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can force the creature to make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 plus the ability modifier used to make the attack roll and your Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, the creature has the Prone condition.
Notes: Damage: Force, creature, Versatile, Topple
