Aartuk are predatory plant creatures with long, whip-like tongues that can extend to snare prey. This tongue is very dense, but by utilizing a specialized spring organ at its base it is able to extend incredible distances. The tongue can also secrete a sappy substance when the spring organ contracts which helps to snare prey. By using a mix of craftsmanship and magic, this whip has been crafted to make use of the tongue and the spring organ for the wielder's benefit.

This weapon has 6 charges, which reset daily at dawn.

Ensnaring Lash
As a bonus action, you can expend 1 charge to target a creature within 30 feet of you, causing the whip to extend out to them. The target must make a DC 12 Dexterity saving throw, becoming grappled (escape DC 11) and pulled either 25 or 20 feet toward you (wielder's choice) on a failed save. While grappling a target in this way, the whip cannot be used to make attacks or use its abilities. The wielder can end this grapple at any time on their turn.

Sapping Snap
As part of an attack with this weapon, you can expend 1 charge to attempt to cover the target in the sappy substance secreted by the whip. The target must make a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw or be covered in sap, reducing their movement speed by 10 feet and giving them a -2 penalty on Dexterity saving throws.

Proficiency with a Whip allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
