A greatsword haunted by the lamentations of its former wielders and foes.
You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. It has the following additional properties.
Suffer me now!
On hit, target must make a dc 19 WIS save or be frightened indefinitely. Condition ends when the target passes a save on its turn, or falls unconscious.
Devour Soul
Whenever you use it to reduce a creature to 0 hit points, the sword slays the creature and devours its soul, unless it is a construct or an undead. A creature whose soul has been devoured by Ky'Sar cannot be restored to life.
When it devours a soul, Ky'Sar grants you temporary hit points equal to the slain creature’s hit point maximum. These hit points fade after 24 hours. As long as these temporary hit points last and you keep Ky'Sar in hand, you have advantage on attack rolls, saving throws, and ability checks.
If you hit a devil with this weapon, you take 2d10 necrotic damage and the target regains 2d10 hit points. If this necrotic damage reduces you to 0 hit points, Ky'Sar devours your soul.
Soul Hunter
While you hold the weapon, you are aware of the presence of Tiny or larger creatures within 60 feet of you that aren’t constructs or devils. You also can’t be charmed or frightened.
Lament's Howl
Using an action, the user can let Ky'Sar scream with the pain of all its trapped souls. Each creature you choose within 60 feet of you must succeed on a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 6d6 psychic damage, 6d6 sonic damage, is deafened and blinded for 1 minute, and knocked prone. On a successful save, it takes half as much damage and isn’t deafened, blinded, or knocked prone. Creatures suffering the frightened have Disadvantage on their save.
Ky'Sar can cast the Fire Storm spell on you once per day. It decides when to cast the spell and maintains concentration on it so that you don’t have to.
Ky'Sar’s hunger for souls must be regularly fed. If the sword goes three days or more without consuming a soul, a conflict between it and its wielder occurs at the next sunset.
Proficiency with a Greatsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.
