The Light atlatl is a tool that uses leverage to achieve greater velocity in projectile-throwing. It may consist of a shaft with a cup or a spur at the end that supports and propels the butt of the ammunition. It is held in one hand, gripped near the end farthest from the cup. The projectile is thrown by the action of the upper arm and wrist. The throwing arm together with the atlatl acts as a lever.
The Light atlatl will use either a dart or Pairs of Sling bullets as ammunition, Heavy Atlatls' using javelins or spears.
The effect of using an atlatl is that the short range is tripled, the long range is doubled, and damage is increased. Also, as the atlatl is a ranged weapon, the user will use the Dexterity modifier for to-hit rolls and damage rolls.
Proficiency with a Sling allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.
