This quill is made from a raven's feather, and when called upon will float from your pocket on its own will, copying any spell it can see being cast into its owner’s spellbook.
This quill can attempt to copy a spell it can see being cast to your spellbook. You can use your reaction when a creature you can see, and share a language with, casts a spell to speak the command word for the quill. The spell must be of a level you can cast, and be found in your class spell list. If you do so, in your following turn you may not move, or take any actions or bonus actions, and instead can only open your spellbook to a blank page. During your turn, the Apprentice’s Quill will attempt to copy the spell into your spellbook. Make an DC 12 + spell level Intelligence (Arcana) check. If successful this spell is added to your spell book. This ability may not be used again until after 3 days have passed.
