This amulet is a diamond-shaped ruby set into two silver hands that gently clasp the gem. It is held on a double-looped rough cord of leather.
The Amulet of Soul Storage allows one soul to be suspended in time and space. In the amulet, the soul has no mental or physical experience or feeling. The soul remains indefinitely in this state until released freely or into a humanoid body that possesses no soul (recently deceased or created body).
It takes one action to activate the amulet as it is held to the chest of a humanoid creature that has died within 15 minutes. There is no effect when used on a living creature. One action will release the soul.
If the amulet is damaged while a soul is stored inside, the soul will be trapped. Attempting to repair the amulet will likely lead to the soul's destruction.
