This intricate amulet, about the size of a human's palm, is wrought from a celestial alloy and adorned with eight different gemstones. Each stone represents a different party member who may partake in the journey.
While wearing this amulet, you can use an action to cast the Teleportation Circle spell (Spell Save DC 17) without expending a spell slot or material components. You can use this property twice, and it regains all expended uses daily at dawn.
In addition, the amulet has the following properties when you use it to perform a special ritual:
Ritual of Pathfinding: You and up to seven willing creatures you touch are transported to a previously visited or known teleportation circle on the current plane of existence. To perform the ritual, you must spend 10 uninterrupted minutes, which can be done during a short rest. The targeted teleportation circle must be on the same plane of existence.
Circle Recognition: When you first attune to the amulet, you can bond it with a teleportation circle that you know. Thereafter, you can add other teleportation circles to the amulet's memory by casting the Teleportation Circle spell while you are in the attuned to the amulet and wielding it.
The amulet only functions if the ritual is completed and the spell is cast within the same plane of existence as the target circle. If the ritual is disrupted, it must be started again, and a use of the spell is wasted.
While the amulet is powerful, it isn't infallible. Each time the amulet is used to teleport, roll a d20. On a roll of 1, the amulet misfires, causing you and your companions to appear in a random location on the current plane. You determine the location randomly by rolling a d100 and consulting the Teleport table in the Teleport spell description.
