While holding it, you can use an action to expend 1 or more of its charges to cast one of the following spells from it, using your spell save DC: confusion (4 charges), detect thoughts (2 charges), dissonant whispers (1 charge), modify memory (5 charges), or sending (2 charges).
The staff regains 1d6 + 4 expended charges daily at dawn. If you expend the last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, the staff vanishes and is destroyed. Each creature within 120 feet of you that has an Intelligence of 4 or more is instantly aware that a staff of the mind was destroyed. This effect extends through total cover.
