Additionally, as an action, you can hit the button on the hilt to split this sword's blade into 4 pieces. Each of these pieces float around you, giving you a +1 to your armor class. As a bonus action on a turn after you split the sword, 1d4 blade pieces attack a target of your choice within 30 feet. Each of these blades pieces deal 1d4 slashing damage, and if all pieces attack at once, you lose your bonus to armor class until your next turn.
Proficiency with a Shortsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
