Wondrous Item, artifact (requires attunement by a by a wizard)

Atmospheron is an awe-inspiring artifact, a 5-foot diameter sapphire that emanates a pulsating radiance, almost like a beating heart. The gemstone is encased within an elaborate, ethereal framework adorned with intricate patterns reminiscent of swirling clouds and celestial motifs. The artifact appears weightless, defying the laws of gravity. It was created long ago by an elemental deity in order to reward the service of a powerful wizard, who was the first attuned creature.

Properties:

Boundless Levitation: Atmospheron possesses unparalleled power, enabling it to levitate objects of immense weight and size. Anything designated by the attuned creature and that touches the artifact or its other connected objects is rendered weightless, regardless of its mass. The artifact can sustain an unlimited number of connected objects and can levitate an entire city, like a sky island, effortlessly.

Anything within double its size above the levitation field will travel along with the object, including spell effects. For example, a 500ft on a side cube of earth would extend a 500ft levitation field above it. This allows for loose objects to safely travel with the field.

Unrestricted Range: The levitation effect of Atmospheron extends indefinitely, allowing it to suspend objects at any desired height, from ground level to soaring heights in the sky. The artifact is not limited by range or distance.

Eternal Levitation: Once an object or structure is connected to Atmospheron by its attuned creature, it remains perpetually suspended in the air. The levitation effect is constant, requiring no further activation or maintenance. If an object breaks apart, the fragments remain levitated but do not travel along with the sapphire anymore.

Flexible Levitation Control: The artifact provides precise control over the levitated objects. The attuned creature and anyone it desires can physically touch, push, or rotate the sapphire (along with any object in its levitation field) in any direction with any amount of (reasonable) force as an action. Alternatively, you can spend 1 minute to set a course to a known location on this plane, at which the object will stop and hover. The object's maximum speed is unknown, but normal usage without damaging connecting objects would allow it to travel at about 2 miles per minute. Any speed higher than this may cause damage to connecting objects at the DM's discretion.

The attuned creature and anyone it desires can also land the sapphire with an action. It will fall at any speed up to terminal velocity, taking damage of the DM's discretion upon landing. You can land safely by traveling down 60 ft/round which will leave it undamaged upon the ground, remaining upright if desired.

Impenetrable Levitation Field: Atmospheron creates a protective field around the levitated objects, shielding them from external forces and disturbances. The levitated objects remain stable and unaffected by winds, storms, or other natural phenomena.

The only known external effect that can potentially influence the levitation field is a Wish spell. However, such an effect would require physical contact with the sapphire and only allow non-harmful levitation control for a duration of [roll]1d100[/roll] minutes.

No other means can suppress or permanently disable this artifact, except for the intervention of a deity from the plane of air.

The connected objects have resistance against all damage and +5 AC. They also count as magical while connected to the sapphire.

Island Builder: Atmospheron gives the ability to cast Move Earth at will, allowing you to attach objects to the sapphire and other attached objects. This ability allows you to also target stone and ore in the spell.
