The work of a genius Artificer by the name of Ballwaak Mikkin, Aether Communicators come in small sets, specifically tailored to the groups that are given to them, with each ear cuff tuned only to the others within the set making them easily recognised when inspected. They're obsidian in colour with copper wiring, a trio of small cogs in the centre, and a thin copper antenna protruding an inch from the top.
When set in the ear, you can touch the communicator and use an action to send a short message of twenty-five words or less to the other aether communicators in the set. The creature hears the message in its ear and you can answer in a like manner immediately. Aether Communicators automatically attune to the voice of the user, cancelling out all background noise. Additionally, users can whisper into the communicator and the recipients will hear the message normally. This doesn't mean perceptive folk won't notice the whisper, but such attempts require a perception check.
Aether Communicators work to a range of 500ft.
