DM notes: These arrows come in sets of 5, at a cost of 250gp per arrow (1250gp total). They count as both piercing and fire damage. Suitable for player levels 4-8.
Level 4-6: On a successful attack, each arrow deals 4d8 fire damage to the target in addition to the piercing damage normally dealt by a longbow. The target is on fire for 1d6 turns, taking the 4d8 fire damage each turn and cannot be extinguished except by magic (revivify, lesser restoration, reduce, tidal wave, etc.). Their speed is also reduced by 10 feet due to the flames. All flammable objects within a 20 foot radius of the target also catch on fire for the same duration. Targets immune to fire damage will still take the piercing damage of the arrow, as well as the speed reduction from the flames.
Levels 7-8: The fire damage dealt increases from 4d8 to 7d8 for successful attacks, with the radius of fire expanding from 20 feet to 40 feet around the target.
All levels: On a failed attack (9 or lower), the user takes 3d8 fire damage to a part of their body, resulting in permanent 3rd degree burning. The body part effected can either be decided by the player or the DM, but that part is now permanently injured and will no longer function as normal. This effect can only be removed with a revivify spell of 2rd level or higher. If a leg or foot is the affected body part, the player's speed is permanently reduced by 10 feet. If a hand is burned, 2-handed weapons are now wielded with disadvantage (since only one hand is still fully functioning).
Proficiency with a Longbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.
